The Making of That Ol' Haunted House (2002)
That Ol' Haunted House: Front Cover

I used to work and live downtown on Capitol Hill back in the day and found that my path home after work took me past some spooky mansions very late at night, so that's the story behind this CD as tracks #2, 3, and 4 would indicate.

Starting off with Dark Sky (my first solo effort) playing rubber drums, Ibanez bass, and a piece-of-shit Fender guitar.  The keyboard I used is the Casio WK-1800 (when I say "rubber drums" I mean the 5-piece Yamaha DT Express) which I have grown out of ever since I bought them.  Am kind of proud of this song, being my first and all.

Going into the title track That Ol' Haunted House -- Wanted to make this CD dark and Eerie, so I watched a lot of horror films to get me in the mood.  (Does it show?)  Used my Boss GT3 guitar processor for the vocals on this one.

Part 2 -- Used the Casio WK-1800 for the bass line and the Boss GT3 for the vocals again.

Part 3 -- I am getting creative now.  I spliced together two movies:  Evil Dead 2 and The Exorcist.  My older brother, Fat Boy, laid the bass track at his house.

Coming On Strong was actually written and performed by The Cloud Miners, but I did it here again playing all the instuments.  The only regret is that I left out the lyrics (which seems to be a shortcoming throughout my CD's).

Light'n My Load -- The Boss GT3 has an arpeggio so I used it.  (Pretty good for a first time guitar player!)

Deep Down South -- Wanted to write a hick song.  Really needed more lyrics.  Fat Boy played slide guitar and recorded his part at his house.  I played my acoustic for the first time on the CD.

Little Brown Jug -- If you know me, you already know the answer to this one.  You see, I have a drinking problem.  Matter of fact most of this CD was created under the influence of alcohol.

Wrote played and recorded this gem in one drunken night.

Soul Is Mine -- Wanted a rocker like I did with The Cloud Miners' "The Gods Must Be Nuts" on our CD Cookie Puss.  I think this is the only good song on the CD, but you all can decide that by yourselves.

Take a Good Look -- Playing around with multi-person vocals.  The guitar-riff music I heard on the old game show, "Match Game."  Thought it was funny so I used it.

Don't Break My Balls -- Always struggling to write more rockers.  This song was written because my boss at work was breaking my balls.  Needed more lyrics.

Whatever Gets You Off -- One of those songs I had good bass and drum track so I just went with it.  Fat Boy played guitar on this one and recorded his part at his house.

Play My Song -- Written around the same time as my "Blue Eyes Brown Skin", which I done with The Cloud Miners on We're Not All That.  Just wanted to do more acoustic.  Also added layered keyboards on the Casio.

No Sorrow No Remorse No Regrets -- Totally drunk out of my mind on vodka!  Did the song in eight hours.

It's a song about three dudes who get out of prison, and they just go back to their old bad ways.  Layered keyboard and multi-person vocals through the Boss GT3.

Hills Have Eyes -- Needed something creepy to round out the CD.  I was watching Halloween one night and came up with this gem.  Did the drums, keyboards, and recorded it in about an hour.

The Making of I Need to Get Out More (2002)
I Need to Get Out More: Front Cover

This is my second solo project in one year.  Also at this time I recorded six or seven songs for We're Not All That and thirteen songs for Dillworker from The Cloud Miners on my Korg D-16 digital recorder at The Witch (my studio), then brought the songs to 13's, at which time he took over the recording and mastering and did a hell of a better job than I could have done.

The title speaks for itself:  Locking myself away in my recording studio, or playing and recording with The Cloud Miners didn't leave me much time for a life.  (I really needed to get out more!)  That didn't happen, so I hit the bottle once again.  The CD cover photo tells a lot about my mental make-up at this time.  All of the photos were taken in a graveyard in Golden on a sunny day by my friend Smitty.  We got a lot of strange looks from people driving by.

Here We Go -- Starting out with another instrumental.  Nothing new here -- rubber drums, bass guitar, and keyboard.

A song that goes nowhere and takes three minutes and ten seconds to get there.

Raw Deal -- Wanted a grunge song but was too drunk to achieve what I set out to do.  A song about my life at the time:  Losing friends, financial troubles, drinking problems, etc.

Out of My Mind -- Out of my mind is right.  I was hitting the bottle pretty hard.  Did this song in the dark, in the nude, and in about eight hours give or take a drink.  Did multi-guitar tracks.

St. Croix -- A true story taken from my past.

Fantasy -- I spliced one of my favorite porn movies and added it to some music I had laid down and came up with this gem.  Was completely wasted that afternoon.

I Need to Get Out More -- Part 1 -- Well, I sobered up enough to lay this one down.  Tried to get a dark guitar sound.

What's up Your Ass -- About living with someone you can't stand.  So fed up that you take matters into your own hands (like duck tape).

Cricket Delight -- Well, all I can say about this song is that I knew a woman named Cricket and well, refer to "Fantasy" and that's all I can say about that!

Don't Steal My Paper -- Got fed up with the neighbors stealing my paper.  I mean, I can't take a shit in the morning without my paper.  (Like to read, don't ya know.)

I mean, that's just plain rude.  So one Sunday my paper was gone, so I went downstairs to The Witch (my studio) and at eight in the morning wrote, played, and recorded this little beauty.

Drunken Sermon 1:1 -- I was tanked, it was early afternoon, and I couldn't hit the ground with my hat in three tries even if I wanted to.  That's how drunk I was.

I remember flushing the toilet over and over and miking it.  So funny I left it in.

Texas Two-Strap -- Now here is a kinky song.  Looking through my spring catalog of JT's Stockroom, I came across a woman posing with her toy.  Need I say more?  Used a stuffed penguin to get that chirping sound.

Get Liquored Up -- This beauty is on the same level as "
No Sorrow No Remorse No Regrets."  Could even say that this is Part Two.  Used multi-personal vocals.

I Need to Get Out More -- Part 2 -- Sums up my life at this time.  All in all, a turbulent time; lots of drunken depression and other abuses.

The Making of Kiss My Collar (2003)
Kiss My Collar: Front Cover

Kiss My Collar -- No instrumental to start this CD.  My goal was to write lyrics for all the songs but still had gaps.  I wrote this song because I really wanted to put down the robed intellectuals out there molesting their flock.  I don't think I was vulgar enough.  Tried to get the same funny-bone feel as "Collection Plate" that I did with The Cloud Miners on our first CD of raw tracks, Number Two.

Time Is Out -- Song is about my alcohol problem.  Used my Casio keyboards more.

Why Am I So Angry? -- Still asking myself this question to this day.  It's about being pushed to the edge, then over it.

Intoxicated Penguin -- A song that I wrote for a band I played in called Demise.  Another song about alcohol abuse.  Had to learn all the parts by myself from old tapes.

Don't Tell Mommy -- A priest molestation song.  Just wanted to keep it simple with acoustic stuff.  Had lyrics to go along but was too drunk to lay them down, so I just skipped them.

Picky About Shit -- Another song that could have gone somewhere if I had been sober.  My Fender guitar always going out of tune and buzzing a lot started to really piss me off.

Keep It Real -- Damn guitar was buzzing bad -- took the best take I could get down.  Was pretty drunk and, yes, I was in the dark and in the nude when I recorded this gem.  (Sorry no photos.)

Cookie Jar -- People think I am made of money, and they always got their hands where they don't belong.  Used the Boss GT-3 on the vocal tracks.  Should have written more lyrics.

Witch Craft -- I thought this was a pretty witchy song.  Asked my friend, Moox, to play sax on it, but he refused.  This song is totally not finished.  Also needed lyrics.

Child Is Safe with Me -- Another priest-child molestation song.

Public Radio -- This is a song that started by me playing my PS2 game, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.  That's where I got the voice over.

California Booty -- Same flavor as " No Sorrow No Remorse No Regrets" and "Get Liqoured Up."  It's about me visiting strip bars in Hollywood.  Multi-person vocals.

The Making of Ashes of a New Day (2003)
Ashes of a New Day: Front Cover

This CD is incomplete all the way through.  The CD cover was put together six months after the CD was complete.  That's how slow things proceeded during the recording and production.  In the end I didn't want this CD to be released since it wasn't complete.  Also no lyrics:  Just too damn drunk and lazy to write any, but instrumentally I like it.  The names of the songs give you a hint of where I was headed.

Inside Out -- Started out with another instrumental.  To be safe, Fatboy once told me, if you write a song you can't go wrong with acoustic guitar and piano, so I went with it.  That's if you're a guitar player or piano player to begin with.

Ashes of a New Day -- Introduced new instruments in this one:  viola, violin, and cello backed up by a simple piano riff and of course rubber drums.

Santa Fe -- Been to Santa Fe many times so I wrote a song about the old place.  Too bad I didn't write any lyrics.

Freedom Toast -- My patriotic song.  Had funny lyrics somewhere.  Maybe I will find them someday.  Still using live miking.

96 Welts -- Wanted to write quick b and d song.  Never turned out that way.

Rock till You Puke -- Now this was my original rocker for this CD, but it's too short of length and I never got around to writing lyrics.

My fender was buzzing bad -- took the best track I could.

No Rules -- Another good rocker with no lyrics.  Fender was buzzing bad again.

Whips -- My second attempt to write a b and d song.  Two separate drum tracks in this one.

Flashback -- Had fun splicing Full Metal Jacket and Platoon.  The whole song took me twelve hours and a twelve pack to complete.

Half-and-Half -- A song about surfing the web for porn.  It would have been a funny song if there were lyrics.

Delaudid -- At the time of the making of this CD I came down with a colon infection and was laid up for two months in and out of hospitals.  They gave me a drug called delaudid.  Never was the same after that.  More layered keyboards.

Space Walk -- Something to round out the CD.  A creepy space thing:  two drum tracks and keyboard.

All in all this CD was never meant to be released because I mastered it before I finished putting on all the tracks.  Lots of good ideas and instrumentally I like it.  The CD cover tells you about my mental state at the time.

The Making of Piss Drinking Whore (2004)
Piss Drinking Whore: Front Cover

ts not to tough to figure this one out  all you need to do is look at the cd cover  "look ma no hands" comes to mind.  Just a frame of mind I was in at the time with all the coke and porn around.  the music and lyrics came pretty fast and laid down fast but it took awhile to actually put it to cd and pics liner notes etc.  13 was so kind to come to the rescue of yours truly to get the pics and cd sleeve done.  the cover is from a porn site "I frequent quite often" "mostly in times of depravation"  I really wanted to be offensive and crude, vulgar, bad manners at the kitchen table  well you know, just a down right bad guy just to get peoples attention  I hope that P.D.W. did just that.

Font is AfterShock: #FFC0C0 fill, black stroke, size = 26 pt.

Font is AfterShock: #FFC0C0 fill, black stroke, size = 26 pt.

hat's a don to do - well I had some room so I added this gem  its taken from a song I did with cloud miners off the first Cd by the same name  it could have been funnier.

Font is AfterShock: #FFC0C0 fill, black stroke, size = 26 pt.

oved by you - fooling around with different characters and was really wasted when I done this  the whipping sounds you here is from a real whip "Spanish leather"  thought it was a good and funny song although I was bruised for a week.
